Coffee Morning – Understanding Assessments

At Citizens, we use clear, purposeful assessment to build confident learners and keep families informed. To support this partnership, we’re hosting a parent coffee morning to explain how assessment works.

In the session we will cover:

– Why we assess and how it informs progress

– The difference between formative and summative assessment

– How Minimum Expected Grades (MEGs) are set and used

– How to read school reports and support learning at home

Join us to gain clarity, ask questions, and leave feeling confident about your child’s learning journey.

Whether it’s treating minor injuries or responding to an emergency, having basic first aid knowledge can make a big difference! It could be at home, at school, or in the community.

As part of our ongoing effort to promote health and safety within our school community, we are hosting a First Aid Training session for parents, guardians, and adult family members  (18 years and older) to learn important life-saving skills in a supportive and practical setting. Register to be part of the session.

At Citizens, we believe a smooth transition into school life begins with confident, prepared families. To support this journey, we are hosting an engaging session designed especially for parents. This session will focus on:

• Understanding school readiness and its components.
• Learning strategies to support smooth transitions from home to school.
• Exploring evidence based SEL practices parents can apply at home and in school.
• Providing practical tools and examples parents can use to foster emotional resilience and independence in their children.

This is a valuable opportunity to gain insights, ask questions, and feel empowered as partners in your child’s learning journey. Together, we can ensure that every learner begins their Citizens experience with confidence and care.

Join us for an interactive session with mindfulness and wellbeing coach Dina Khanat.

Dina will guide you through simple mindfulness tools to help you feel more present, less stressed, and better able to manage everyday challenges.

Learn how stress impacts the mind and body, and discover practical techniques to stay calm, focused, and in control.
